Kongo Kinnosuke (金剛謹之輔)
Kinnosuke KONGO (1854 to 1923) was a Noh actor of the shite-kata Kongo school (one of the five schools of shite-kata [main roles]).
Born in the Nomura Kongo family in Kyoto, a disciple family in the Kongo school. Renown as a master in the west, he actively performed mainly in the Kansai region. He was admired together with HOSHO Kuro Tomoharu in the east. One of the great masters in the Meiji period.
Iwao KONGO (the first), the 24th head of the leading family in the Kongo school, is his child.
